  • Liberty Mutual
  • Farmers
  • The General

Carriers shown on Compare.com's own page. Which insurers you see depends on your state and your home.

How it works

  1. Enter your ZIP code

Compare.com uses it to work out which insurers write policies where you live.

  2. Answer a few questions about the home

Age, size, roof and the usual basics. It takes about two minutes.

  3. Compare the quotes side by side

Look at the price and what each policy actually covers. You can buy online or ask for an agent, and you can walk away.

What Compare.com says about savings

Compare.com states that users save up to $867 a year on premiums when they compare through them. That is their figure, not ours, and it is an upper bound rather than a typical result. What you save depends on your home, your state and what you are paying now.
